Yay for FALL!!

We are so excited that fall is here and the hot muggy weather is behind us!! This past Saturday we went to Pettit Creek Farms in Cartersville where William enjoyed riding a pony, feeding the sheep and goats, and going on a hay ride around the farm. The farm was full of all types of animals!! Camels, zebras, pigs, cows, and ostriches!! The hay ride was by far William's favorite part. The whole time he kept saying "mooooo, mooooo". He LOVES animals. His favorite book to read at night before bed is 'Baby's First Book of 100 Animals'. He can make the sound of a cow, sheep, elephant, monkey, and snake. It is so cute. He is growing up FAST!!! In four more months he will be TWO! Can't believe it!
Speaking of a monkey.....William IS ONE! I am beginning to think his favorite show, 'Curious George', gives him too many crazy ideas! He has mastered climbing out of his crib and climbing into the bathroom sink! He can do both in about 5 seconds! How does he get into the bathroom sink you might be wondering?? Well first he climbs on top of the toilet, then he leans forward and puts his hands on the inside edge of the sink, and pulls himself on top of the counter and then just makes himself comfortable in the sink. I have caught him brushing his teeth, combing his hair, or just smiling at himself in the mirror! He really makes us laugh!

He sure is a handful but we couldn't imagine our life without him!

A Boy and His Tractor!

William LOVES to be outside!! All day long he is saying "bye bye, bye bye" and pulling on the door to the garage. Unfortunately, with this heat, there is not much we can do outdoors! So I got a little creative yesterday and we took a trip down 41 to Cobb County Tractor Co. They were very kind to allow William to climb on a few tractors. He loved it! The second we pulled in he was squealing "trac-tor, trac-tor"! We spent about 15 minutes outside and then ventured inside the air conditioned showroom and spent a few minutes climbing on the smaller "tractors" (mostly mowers). When we left William was waving and saying "bye bye".

He just happened to have the perfect shirt for the occasion :)

Beach Trip 2011

We took our annual family beach trip this June. The weather was beautiful and we all had a blast!
This picture pretty much sums up how William felt about the ocean and sand! Luckily, there was a pool with a small water slide nearby that he loved!!

M&M's were the only thing that would keep him happy for a moment while Mommy and Daddy sat on the beach.

William is a 'big boy" now at 17 months. He can climb his way onto/into anything! He will climb into a chair at the dinner table and sit like a big boy with is cup. He can climb into my car and will sit in the seat and look at me like "I'm ready to go Mommy". He can climb up the stairs and walk back down holding the rails, and he can grip his little monkey toes around the baby gate spindles and almost climb over....YIKES!! He has not figured out how to climb out of his crib yet......knock on wood!!

William has a mouthful of teeth, 16 to be exact. The only ones he has left are his 2 year old molars. He loves to brush his teeth with a very large grown up tooth brush, not a small baby one, but one that barely fits in his mouth! But hey, whatever works!

He is talking up a storm. Constantly babbling! A few words he can say now are: tractor, truck, hi/hey, ball, bye-bye, yuck, no-no (of course), and just recently his Daddy taught him to throw his hands up in the air and yell "touch down". He is gearing him up for football season :).

William has had quite a busy summer. We have swimming lessons twice a week and Gymboree class on Thursdays. We have a play date at least once a week and just recently went to White Water.

William is such a sweet, happy, and well mannered child! We are truely blessed. I thank God every night as I am putting him to bed for such a wonderful angel!

Yeah you can say I am a little behind! Going to play a little catch up all in one blog post!

Here are a few pictures of William I took in the park the day before he was 14 months. I suddenly realized at the last minute that I hadn't taken any pictures of him during his 13th month of LIFE!! Now that it is warming up outside he is busy, busy, busy! It's go, go, go. Non-stop. ALL DAY LONG! He doesn't stand still long enough to take a picture these days.....let alone capture a smile!

Here are a few pictures from Zoo Atlanta. William had a BLAST! He loves animals! The petting zoo was by far his favorite part.

Happy 1st Birthday William!!!

On February 11th at 6:59am William officially turned ONE! We now have a toddler?? Seriously?!?! Has a year passed THAT quickly?? Is it really time to start thinking about baby number 2 (gasp)?! No way! I think we will enjoy our little monkey another 6 months or so before we even consider trying for a second.

William's birthday party was such a blast! We invited grandparents, aunts and uncles, and some of William's closest friends :). We all crammed in our little townhouse, but no one seemed to mind! William was spoiled rotten. He received some wonderful gifts from everyone! Especially his horse from handyman Uncle Daniel and his "First Year" video made just for him by his Papi!

The birthday boy really enjoyed his smash cake! It didn't take long for him to realize that he could use his mouth as well as his hands to dig in! He is too funny! He makes me laugh at something new every day.

William started walking a week before his birthday. Just in time to "show off" at his party! He is so proud of himself. He is getting the hang of it more and more every day and even attempts to run when you chase him! Currently he has 8 teeth and 2 molars (ouch) trying to break through. He is back to being a drooling machine! He can wave and say "ba-ba" (bye-bye), "na-na" when he is sleepy (night-night) and "ba" (ball). He is very good at throwing the ball. We may have a future pitcher or quarterback on our hands :).

William is a very happy baby....oops I mean toddler! You would never know it from the pictures we took at the park yesterday. He was SO serious! I couldn't get him to smile at all for the camera! I captured some very sweet pictures regardless! Enjoy.....

1st Christmas=A BLAST! Now on to the 1st BIRTHDAY!!

William's first Christmas was a BLAST!! I think it was more exciting for Mommy and Daddy than it was for William! :) He had no clue what was going on. We didn't get him much, just a basket ball goal, a small toy tool bench, and I finished decorating his Curious George (very fitting for our little curious monkey) themed playroom . We figured we would let everyone else spoil him.....which they did! Christmas morning I took all they toys he had received so far and set them up in the playroom. We brought him downstairs after breakfast to see all that "Santa" had brought (a special thank you to all my elves). He was overwhelmed! There was SO much to play with. We played for almost an hour.

Christmas Day William had two more bottom teeth break through. Finally!! Those suckers were taking forever! He now has a total of 8 teeth and he loves to bite!! His favorite spots are the shoulders (just when you think he wants to snuggle he gets ya) and the legs. We say "No no that hurts! We don't bite!" every time but he just looks at you and smiles! Rotten beast!

William has been standing on his own for about a month now. About a week or two after Christmas he took a few steps on his own. He is currently up to about 5-6 steps at a time before he falls on his booty! Maybe he will be walking steadily by his first birthday. Which brings me to the next subject......our baby boys first birthday!! William will turn 1 on February 11th. I have began planning a small party at our house and of course, it will be a Curious George theme! :) I can't wait to see him dig in to his cake!!!

William didn't care much for the recent "Blizzard of '11". We bundled him up and took him outside but he didn't want any thing to do with it! He had such a pitiful look on his face!

William is such a joy! So funny, so sweet and so smart! I hope the toddler years are just as nice (insert silent prayer here) :)

Standing, Sitting in Drawers, and Seeing Santa!

Sooooo.....I was told I am being a slacker on the blogging lately! I wont mention any names :) So while the Energizer Bunny is taking a quick nap I will try to update as much as I can!

I'm convinced I did not birth a child but an Energizer Bunny who keeps going and going and going!! William never stops! He takes 2 quick power naps (45 min-1 hour) a day and the rest of the time he is eating anything he can get his hands on (I think more teeth are coming in), crawling in drawers, standing, trying to get the pantry and bathroom doors open (to eat cardboard or toilet paper), pulling on the blinds to look out the window,throwing tennis balls around the living room, and trying to get up or down the stairs by pulling up and hanging on the baby gaits like they are monkey bars! Have I created a good mental image for ya?!?! There are days when I forget to brush my teeth or forget to eat lunch because I am chasing after the little beast!!

William has discovered how to stick out his tongue. He will be crawl around the house with his tongue hanging out like a little puppy. It's really cute!

Bath time is SO much fun! William LOVES it! He would sit in the tub for hours if he wouldn't shrivel like a prune! He will sit and stand a hundred times, place the rubber ducky on the soap ledge, chew on the little squirt toys and splash almost all of the water out of the tub! Oh and he is trying to learn to swim by face planting into the tub and swallowing a mouth full of water (so I tell myself after I am done pounding him on the back and freaking out)!!

Now on to Santa......

As you can tell William didn't care for him too much! That surprised me a little since William will go to anyone and is always smiling!! I guess a big hairy man in a red suit would scare me too at 10 months old and I'm sure there are pictures to prove it! :)

9 Months and Counting...

William has been in this world for as long as he was in my belly! Unbelievable! I wish my pregnancy flew by as quickly as these last 9 months have! We have cherished every waking moment he has been in our lives! We wouldn't change a thing. Even when he starts calling for us at 6:15 am (like he did this morning), we can't wait to get him out of his crib and bring him in bed with us to snuggle. William however would rather crawl over us to get to the baby monitor or alarm clock than snuggle!

William is talking up a storm!! Well, babbling up a storm. He wants to make sure you know where he is at all times! In the car, in his high chair, in his crib, anywhere he may be he is saying "da da da, ba ba ba, ma ma ma, t t t t....".

He still has six teeth. Four on top and two on bottom. The drooling has started up again and everything he touches must go in his mouth, so it is possible more are coming.

William can ALMOST stand on his own. Right now it is more of a squat. He gets into everything now (unrolls the toilet paper off the roll and then eats it and tries to climb up the shelfs of the pantry....just to name a few) I can only imagine what he is going to get into, and how quickly he will get into it, when he starts walking! I think I might invest in a pair of those shoes with the roller skates built in so that I can keep up with him :).

Our handsome boy LOVES the camera. He smiles as soon as he sees it. My dear friend recently took some pictures of him at Autry Mill Nature Center in Alpharetta. He smiled for almost every photo! Below are some of my favorites! Enjoy!

My Pumpkin is 8 Months Old!!!

"No way! No way!" That is what Josh said yesterday when I looked at my calender and said that William was going to be 8 months old today. Well......yes way! He is 8 months old and growing WAY too fast! I think he will be walking very soon!! He can pull to stand so fast and is starting to cruise along the sofa. I discovered this when I tried to hide the television remote from him but he outsmarted me by walking from one end of the sofa to the other to get it out from behind the pillow! He is so smart I tell ya! You can just see the wheels a turnin'!

He still says "ma-ma" all day long and I am pretty sure he said "da-da" for the first time yesterday. Josh just grinned from ear to ear. It was really sweet!

He is ginormous! I'm thinking he is around 21-22 pounds! His weight has definitely slowed down since he has become mobile. The boy loves to eat! I haven't found a thing he doesn't like! He is starting to eat finger foods by himself which is SO much fun! It is much easier to go out to dinner now! Currently he has six teeth. Four on top and two on the bottom. They were coming in so fast! One right after the other. I think they have finally slowed down :) His hair on the other hand is growing like a weed. It is starting to grow over his ears :) I swear I think he is turing into a little boy! Where is my BABY?!?!

We took William to a pumpkin patch yesterday with his cousin Kameron. They had a great time looking for pumpkins and going on a hay ride! William loved the tractors! He could have watched them for hours!

Halloween is right around the corner and before you know it, it will be Christmas! Better get shoppin'.......

Hilton Head Island....Just Beachy!

Last week we took a family vacation to Hilton Head Island. It was an adventure to say the least :). Besides the fact that we have an Energizer Bunny for a child who did NOT like sleeping in his pack 'n play and wanted to play at 2am, we had a blast! William loved the sandy beaches and splashing around in the pool! The look on his face when he first saw the ocean was priceless!

GiGi and Pa came for a few days and William loved having them around. And after many sleepless nights, Mommy and Daddy did too :) I don't know where the boy gets his energy from....he was non-stop from sun up to sun down, smiling the entire time! Look at this HAM!!

We took roughly 300 pictures of William while we were there! You would think he was vacationing by himself but we were there too, I promise! Vacation is definitely very different with a child but we wouldn't have changed a thing!

William had two "Mommy photo sessions" while we were there and we were able to capture some really good photos of him! Enjoy!

Big Changes!!

Where has our BABY gone?!?! The William we have now is on his way to becoming a big boy!! Sniff Sniff! As much as we MISS the tiny baby phase we are REALLY enjoying William right now! Six months is an awesome age!
William has continued to be an absolute angel while teething and currently his two top teeth are coming in at the same time!

As you can see from the picture above William has started eating solid foods!! So far he has had rice & oatmeal cereal, apricots, prunes, bananas, peaches, peas, green beans, sweet potatoes and carrots. I have made all but the bananas and carrots. Bananas have to be made fresh. You can't freeze them or they will turn black and since they ripen rather quickly I decided just to buy them. Also a friend told me, and I read up on, how you shouldn't make carrots, beets, or spinach because depending on where they are grown they could have high levels of nitrates which aren't good for the little munchkins! So far, William has loved everything he has been offered and finishes every last drop! Are you surprised? I mean look at this 19 pound 2 ounce baby boy!

If I remember correctly at William's 6 month check up he was 27 1/2 inches long (90%) and at 19 pounds 2 ounces he dropped down to the 75% (has always been 90-95% for weight). I am sure all the crawling around has slimmed him down a bit! :)
William is ALL OVER THE PLACE!! He can crawl so fast and in a blink of an eye he is pulling up on the sofa, fireplace, and has even made it over to the stairs!

William is such a ham! As soon as he sees the camera he smiles!

That's right!! At just 2 weeks shy of 6 months William started crawling!! The baby proofing has begun! Outlets are plugged, gates are up, and pretty soon the TV and all of its "toys" will be out of reach! He is ALL over the place....a TRUE handful now!

Georgia Aquarium and William's first TOOTH!

William's first trip to the Georgia Aquarium was a little overwhelming! No one seemed to mind that you had a stroller carrying a baby....they just ran your butt over! Nonna and Papi were a big help! William really enjoyed looking at all the fish! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Rolling, Sitting & Crawling......almost!

William is a busy, busy baby! He is growing up so fast!!! So much has happened just in the last week!! This past Saturday we discovered his first baby tooth was coming in!! He was a day shy of 5 months. I had no idea it would be this soon!! He has been putting EVERYTHING in his mouth and drooling like crazy but I had read that this would occur for months before his teeth would start to come in! I also thought he would get fussy and wake up at night in pain but he has been a perfect angel (knock on wood)!! He smiles ALL the time. All you have to do is look at him and say "hi" and he smiles!! We are so blessed to have such a happy baby!! As soon as the tooth is all the way in I will post plenty of pictures!!

William has also mastered rolling over in both directions. In fact, he doesn't stay still for longer than 2 seconds!! The second you lay him on his back he is rolling over to his stomach! I recently went to Best Buy and bought a video camera to capture every moment of William's life from this moment on!! ;) For some reason I am having a hard time uploading the videos to the blog! As soon as I figure it out I will post them!

A few blogs ago I mentioned how William can sit by himself for a split second before toppling over. Well right now he can sit for about 30 seconds at at time. He usually falls right over the minute he looks up at me! It happened shortly after these pictures were taken!

I told Josh we needed to invest in a baby gate or two before it is too late! William wants to crawl SO bad!! He is pretty close. He can get up on all fours, rock back and forth, and yesterday he began moving one knee forward but hasn't figured out that you have to move the arm as well!

This week William and I were suppose to go to the beach with my parents and my nephew Kameron, but unfortunately the nasty oil in the Gulf has forced us to postpone until next year. I pray that this disaster will be fixed by then! My parents have planned a fun filled week for Kameron before he starts Pre-K next month. Tomorrow William and I will join them at the Atlanta Aquarium! I am interested to see how William will react to all the fish! I will let you know in my next blog post!

Josh and I bought a nice digital SLR camera before William was born. It has two different types of lenses and MANY different settings and features! I am slowly learning how to use all of them! William was very cooperative with his mommy during his first photo session. I have so much more to learn! More photo sessions to come.....

17 + 25 3/4 = 90%

Yes that's right! We were way off on our estimation! William was 17 pounds and 25 3/4inches at his 4 month check up a few weeks ago! He is growing like a weed!! Unfortunately, I didn't get the go ahead to start baby food like I hoped. Our pediatrician said that breastfed babies do not need anything other than breast milk for the first 6 months, which I knew, I just figured a little food wouldn't hurt! However, baby food (even cereal) would just be providing him with "empty calories". So needless to say, we have eliminated the rice cereal bottle at night. I am nursing him at about 9:30p (weaning him back from the 10:00p feeding) and he continues to sleep through the night. He actually sleeps in a little later now, until about 7-7:30a. Go figure!

William mastered another milestone today! I placed him on the floor in his room (on his back) while I put his clothes away. Two seconds later I turned around and he was on his stomach looking up at me! I almost cried because I missed it! He tried sooooooo hard but wasn't able to do it again. Boy am I going to be a basket case if he takes his first steps while I'm away!! Believe it or not, he is almost sitting up! If you position him just right he can stay upright for about 5 seconds before he topples over. It may just be his chubby belly holding him up, but I like to think he is supporting himself ;)
As always, William continues to be an absolute joy!!! He is such a happy baby....full of smiles!!

The Beast!

Yes, that is what we are calling William these days....the beast! The beast is getting so big! We think he is about 15-16 pounds! We will find out for sure this Thursday at his 4 month check up along with another round of shots....boo hoo! I am also hoping to get the green light on feeding him baby food! I plan on making it for him....yummy, yummy. I am very excited about that! The beast has mastered all major milestones for his age....Mommy and Daddy are so proud! He can hold his head up unsupported and has been able to for a while. It is great to be able to carry him around on your hip and not worry about his head falling back. He is able to hold his head up at a 90 degree angle when he is on his tummy and is starting to push up with his arms...a modified baby push up :). He has found his hands and is constantly putting them as well as other objects (burp cloths, teethers, toys, Mommy and Daddy's hands) in his mouth! He can pull himself to a sitting position when he wraps his little hand around our finger. He can roll over one way from tummy to back and is trying so hard to roll back the other way. One morning he woke up crying (normally he wakes up talking) and I went in to check and see what was wrong. Well, he had rolled himself onto his back and had his arms and legs in the air, his eyes saying "help Mommy"! I started clapping and laughing saying "good job William"! He cried even harder. Bless his heart! Guess he wasn't as excited as Mommy :)

William has consistently slept through the night since we added rice cereal to his night bottle (he has mastered holding the bottle all by himself)! He wakes up happy as a clam about 6-6:15 every morning! As hard as it is to get out of bed, we can't wait to see the little guy! He is full of stories and giggles in the morning. In my opinion, they are the best stories ever told :) William loves to sing songs and read books. He loves bath time so I figured he would love the pool.....sure enough I was right! The cold water didn't phase him a bit!! William loves to kick his legs!! So today I decided to put together the Johnny Jump Up.....he wanted to eat it more than jump in it! Either way he loved it!

I can't believe 3 months have passed since William was born! Josh and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our little boys life! He changes daily! When Josh comes home he always asks "What did you learn today William?". I always have something to tell him. Over the past few months William has found his hands. He is always holding them together or putting them in his mouth. He has learned to laugh and he has learned how to stick his bottom lip out and pout. Josh says he looks like his mommy when he does this...ha ha! He is always talking and smiling. He eats and sleeps like a champ during the day....nighttime is still a work in progress. One night he will sleep 9 hours and the next night he will only sleep 5 or 6. We have introduced rice cereal at nighttime to try and keep him satisfied longer. Oh boy does he LOVE the rice cereal! We "practice" with a spoon after he eats at dinnertime so that he will have the skill down and be ready for baby food (which I plan on making) when he is 4 months. We also put a little in his bottle at night. So far so good. He has slept 7 hours or more every night. He still wakes up around 5:00am but hopefully he will get closer and closer to 6:00 as the weeks go by! I'm sure it will all catch up with me sooner then later, but I secretly enjoy when he awakes at night. It's our quiet alone time where I can just gaze into his eyes as he nurses and snuggle him when he falls asleep on my shoulder! Bittersweet!

Yummy Yummy!!

I was visiting my friend Ashly yesterday for a small play date and Mommy talk, and we weighed William on her baby scale. He would only lay still for a few seconds but he appeared to weigh approximately 15 lbs! I measured him this morning and he is about 25 inches long. Needless to say he is SOLID! I love pinching his chunky legs!! He is looking more and more like his daddy everyday, except for the chunky legs....those came from me!!

Just look at that sweet baby!!!! Don't you just want to pinch him!?!

William is still a busy busy baby! He is a little annoyed with me right now that we are sitting still at the computer. He loves to be outside! I try and take him on a walk the days that I am off work, as long as it is not too hot. He loves to watch Baby Einstein videos. He just smiles, laughs and talks the entire time! He loves to read books, play with his rattles and keys, and adores his Little Einstein play gym.

Tummy time..

I recently went back to work and William is doing great with Daddy and Gigi! I try not to call every 5 minutes to check in and hear his sweet voice! It kills me, but work flies by and I am home every night to tuck him in.

Speaking of flying by...time passes way too quickly! I find myself having to stop, breathe, and take it all in! I wish we could slow things down a bit so he didn't have to grow up so fast! With that said, I can't wait to see what the next 3 months has in store!!

This weekend Josh and I took William to Piedmont Park for a walk. The weather was BEAUTIFUL!! William really enjoys being outside. We snapped some really good pictures while we were there.....enjoy!

Our little chunky monkey!!

Our little chunky monkey, as we call him, is 2 months old (10 weeks on Thursday to be exact) and is such a joy!! He is full of personality! He is always smiling and is starting to laugh and "talk". The best of all.....he is sleeping through the night! Now by sleeping through the night I mean roughly 9:30pm-5am!! He has slept until 6am on a couple of occasions but that is rare. He will get there!
He is such a strong boy! He can hold his head up without support, he can scoot himself from one end of the crib to the other, he can push his little head and trunk up off the floor when laying on his tummy, and Josh and I have both witnessed him almost on all fours!!! He might be an early crawler!!
Last Tuesday William got his 2 month shots. He was fine until the third shot when he screamed bloody murder! I give shots to children regularly at work but I couldn't watch my sweet boy get stuck! I made Josh go with me! After it was over he was just as calm as could be. Such a trooper! He is now up to 13 lbs 9 oz and is 23 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. Daddy is a pretty tall guy so I am sure his height will catch up to his weight soon!

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We sure did!
It was our first family outing and boy were we worn out!! We packed the car with everything but the kitchen sink and headed to my family first in Cumming around 1:00 and then out to Josh's family in Cartersville around 5:00! We eventually made it home just in time for William to eat around 10:00 and then we all passed out! As Josh and I laid in bed I said to him "maybe tonight is the night William will sleep through the night" and he said "don't get your hopes up". Well...our sweet boy slept until 5:00 am!! Woo Hoo!! Boy was Mommy happy to get 6 1/2 hours of continuous sleep!! I feel so refreshed!
William is getting so big! He will be 8 weeks old on Thursday and weighs 13 pounds!! He smiles all the time and is starting to coo and squeal! His personality is already starting to shine. He is a boy that knows what he wants and how to get it! He is rotten!
I start back to work May 1st. I will only be part time which is two 12 hour shifts a week. I look forward to going back to work because I love my job so much. I will miss our sweet boy while I am there but I know he will be in good hands with his Daddy and GiGi.

3 weeks old!!

I can not believe our sweet boy is 3 weeks old! Wow how time flies!! William is such a good baby. He is a little fussy at times due to acid reflux, so I have had to modify my diet...say goodbye to caffine, chocolate and dairy :(...and the doctor placed him on an acid reducer. It has helped significantly!

William is a hungry boy! He wants to nurse every 2 1/2-3 hours (guess he is not going to be like his Mommy and sleep through the night at 3 weeks!). I do my best to nap when he naps during the day so that I am not so exausted. So far, so good. At his last doctors visit at 11 days old he weighed 9 lbs 9 oz!! He has to be getting close to 11 lbs now....check out his double chin!!

He loves being carried around in the Moby wrap. I can get a lot done with both hands free!! In fact, William and I did a couple loads of laundry the other day and unloaded the dishwasher! ;-)

Sometimes he falls asleep in it!

William loves his Daddy....and his Daddy can't get enough of him. Josh has been absolutely amazing! He is so good around the house doing laundry, cleaning bathrooms, and cooking dinner. Even though he has gone back to work he still gets up to help me with William in the middle of the night! I tell him often I don't know what I would do without him! I love him more and more every day!

Being a mommy is amazing! I am enjoying every minute of it! How could I not? Just look at this sweet boy!!

I can't wait until it warms up outside so we an take long walks, go the the pool, meet Daddy for lunch....just get some fresh air! It's not fun being cooped up in the house all day. The doctor said we should really wait until William is 6 weeks old and his immune system is stronger to be out for long periods of time. It is okay to take quick 30 minute shopping trips. We ventured out to Publix the other day. I was in and out in 15 minutes! No price comparisons or contimplating on what cereal to buy! I just threw it in the buggy and was out of there before he could make a fuss!

I can't wait to experience all parenthood has to offer! And most of all I can't wait to share it with all of you! Please keep reading....many more posts and pictures of our sweet boy to come!

Our precious little boy has arrived! William was born on Feb 11th at 6:59 am. Just one day past his due date. He was 8lb 9 oz and 20 inches long. He is the best thing that has ever happened to us....an amazing gift from God! He is a wonderful baby! Josh and I can't stop staring at him...at this beautiful life we created! Enjoy the pictures...there are more to come.

I can't believe it! Two more weeks until my due date! I am sure William will extend his stay in Hotel Mommy a little longer than that....as most first time babies do ;-) I am pretty sure I can keep myself busy until then. We still have home organizing to do, a stroller to put together, get the car seat in the car (after I have the car washed...it is nasty!), last minute purchases at Babies R Us, and finishing touches on his room (still waiting on the letters that spell out his name to arrive).
So far I have had a decent pregnancy....I really should not complain. My only set back is pregnancy induced carpal tunnel syndrome! I can't feel the keyboard as I type right now because several of my fingers are numb! They are extremely swollen (I haven't been able to wear my rings in months) and I wake up in the morning in a lot of pain and my hands practically clenched shut...can't straighten my fingers for hours! The doctors assure me that this will go away after delivery.

Last weekend I had my fourth and final baby shower. We are truly blessed with amazing family and friends that loaded us up with goodies for baby William! I just need to make a quick stop at Babies R Us for small, last minute items. Mostly items I didn't register for that I am finding out are a must from other moms.

Amazing friends that helped put together a shower at work...over 30 people attended! Again, I felt truly blessed!

Here is the last belly shot....I hope! It is my nine month shot. I guess if I go over 40 weeks I will take another....but I can not guarantee that I will be smiling in that one ;-)

And at last...our sweet baby William's room. The only thing missing is his name above the bed. The letters should arrive in a little over a week. They may not get hung by the time William arrives. We shall see.

The first picture is a set of antique hot air balloon prints that I found in a flea market and refinished the frame....

Yes- the picture to the far right says "Gibbs Baby Underwear". It's an ad from a 1948 Good Housekeeping Magazine! What an amazing find! Gotta love eBay!!

"Willam" will go above the bed in brown letters. The chifforobe was in my nursery. It is over 30 years old...refinished beautifully by my mom.

And this final picture is William's bassinet. You may have guessed that is is also an "antique"! My mom was the first baby to sleep in this bassinet and it has been passed down 3 generations. If I am doing my math correctly, William will be the 12th baby to sleep in this beautiful family heirloom!

8 months and counting....

I took this picture a couple of weeks back when I was exactly 8 months. Wednesday I will be 35 weeks....almost 9 months! WOW how time flies around the holidays!

Josh and I had a wonderful Christmas. We really enjoyed spending time with each other and our families. We can't wait until next year when we will have William to celebrate with us. Five more weeks, give or take, and he will be here! Dr. Kameron Casey has been listening to baby William with his new doctor kit. He says baby William will be here at 8:00. Not sure if that is morning or night...we shall see!

We are very busy getting his room together. Hopefully my next blog post will have pictures of it all completed! So far the paneling is up, the walls are painted, the crib is up and the bedding is in! Today Josh and I have been sanding and staining picture frames and we hung the three hot air balloons from the ceiling. The only thing left to do is find a rocker/glider, hang pictures, paint the dresser and put it in the room, find a mobile, and put is initials or name above the bed. Phew!

Big Boy!!

Last week Josh and I went to the doctor for a 30 week "growth" ultrasound of William. He measured roughly 3 lb 5 oz. If he gains the average of 1/2 a pound a week then he should be around 8 lb 5 oz at birth. Mommy can handle that....anymore and YIKES!

Last Saturday I had my first baby shower that my wonderful friend Michele hosted and was assisted by my dear friends Patty, Mandy and Angelica. It was very nice and William received a lot of wonderful gifts! I can't wait until he is here to see/play with all of them ;-)

Two more months...may they fly by!

....William Patrick Gibbs!! Yes ladies and gents I think we have settled on a name! I love the name William and will probably call him that but Josh wants to call him Will-which I think is equally as cute! Our nephew Kameron spent the day with us today and after lunch he was looking at pictures on our fridge. Josh pointed to our 20 week sonogram picture (the one over to the right of this page) and asked Kameron "who is this?". Kameron said "it's Baby William". So smart! Then later this afternoon we went to the park and Josh and I were pushing Kameron in a swing. He said to me "I am keeping my legs down so I don't kick your belly. I don't want your belly to cry." So cute!! I can't wait for sweet moments like that with our Baby William! 7 months today!

Wow! I can't believe I am 7 months pregnant already! The second trimester came and went so quickly! And so did the burst of energy! I am starting to get sleepy again like I was in the first trimester :-( I better hurry and finish my ever growing list of things to do! We will start working on the baby's room the day after Thanksgiving. My dad is going to come over and he and J are going to put bead board up and paint...and then everything else should fall into place. We have purchased the bedding, we have a crib and a dresser, and all the decor! We are going to do a Hot Air Balloon theme. Below is a picture of the balloons we have purchased that will hang from the ceiling.

After a ton of searching I found bedding that is close to what I had envisioned and didn't cost a fortune! A girlfriend at work told me about The Land of Nod, Crate and Barrel's "baby" store. If she hadn't I would probably still be looking! It is not quite as pastel in person. It is a little bolder and matches perfectly with the hot air balloons!

The only thing left to find is a glider....it needs to be comfy for all those late nights mommy will be spending in it while nursing the little guy ;-)

Everything went great at the doctor last Friday. I passed the dreaded glucose tolerance test and all my other blood work was within normal limits. The baby was moving around like crazy! I am starting to feel knees and elbows poking at my ribs and hips...very uncomfortable, but I love it at the same time! If you are still waiting for the big name reveal...so are we! I still think we are pretty close. J and I will be going out this weekend for his 30th birthday celebration and we will be discussing it until we come to an agreement! I told him I wanted our little guy to have a name before my first shower which is December 5th! So I'll say again...hopefully next post I will be able to share the name with you. Fingers crossed!

Juniors first UGA game

Yesterday we took our nephew's Landon and Keaton to their first UGA game. It was little juniors first game as well ;-) We all had a great time! The weather was absolutely beautiful and the Dawgs finally pulled out a win! I know Josh is looking forward to the day he can take our little man to a game to cheer on his Alma Mater! We are a little closer to a name, I think! I'll keep you posted!

Hello all,
This is the first of many blog posts for the Growing Gibbs Family ;-). A really good friend of mine, who is also a blogger, encouraged me to start a blog so that she could "keep up with me"-this is for you Ash ;-) I also have family and friends out of state that I thought would like to keep up with us as well. So I hope you all enjoy this wonderful journey with us!!

J and I are expecting our sweet baby boy Feb, 10th. Right now he is about 14 inches long and anywhere from 1 lb 4 oz to 2 lbs 15 oz. He doesn't have a name yet but we are working on it. Right now we like to call him Junior, little man or sweet boy. He is a rambunctious little boy that is for sure! J and I love to watch my belly every night. It is amazing to see and feel this precious life from the outside!

Here are a couple 6 month bump shots. The second one is of my little pumpkin at work on Halloween....

In just 2 short weeks I will be in my third trimester and will head to the doctor for the glucose tolerance test. I am not looking forward to the "pure sugar Orange Crush" like drink I have heard so many horrible stories about! But Junior and I will manage. He really likes sugar right now ;-)...and Chick Fil A nuggets and fries, and cheese, and ice cream and pickles! Just to name a few!
